What to expect on our Snorkeling and Fishing Combination Excursion.

This private adventure trip usually begins around 8:30, however every client is different, so we defiantly like to discuss what time works best for everyone. Upon meeting at the boat ramp we all go over any safety details and orient everyone with the snorkeling gear, safety precedures, and the vessel. From there we will run offshore to the many reefs on the west coast of Puerto Rico. We typically fish first, since this presents the calmer waters and best time to get Tuna bites. This trip is designed for single familys and small grouper up to 6 people. Your party will ultimately have the say on what to experience and how long. Rest assured Capt. Frank will have plenty of good reef locations and fishing spots to keep everyone busy. For these trips we do supply all the snorkel and fishing equipment needed. Our trips generally last for 5-6 hours but longer excursions are available too. This private boat tour supplies drinks and snacks, generally fresh fruit, but feel free to bring any drinks you like and lunch.

Coral Reefs and Tropical Fish you could see in Puerto Rico.

The island of Puerto Rico has a pelethora of Snorkeling opportunities. Simply Caught generally operates on the west coast of the island. On this side of the island the Tourmaline reef, Abrir La Sierra, and Descheo Island all offer great opportunites to snorkel with only a 30 minute boat ride. Along the coast Steps beach is a local favorite, which is a natural preserve allowing the fish and corral to grow to a healthy population. Just to the south of Steps there are spanish cannons in about 23 foot of water that are also a fun site to visit. When the wind blows, Simply Caught has the ability to trailer the boat therefor allowing us to access three different facing coastline. This allows us to find calm clear waters on any given day. Snorkeling on the Norhern coast offers plenty of corral with steep cliffs and big rocks to explore. Shacks Beach is a great starting point on the North coast, whichalso has a very unique blue hole. Snorkeling the Souther coast of Puerto Rico offers great grass flats, channels and mangroves to see. Here it is very common to see Manatees. No matter where we choose it will be a good time.

Residing in the Carribean, Puerto Rico has an abundace of reef fish, turtles, and many other ocean dweling creatures. The island is know for its turtle popluation and its not uncommon to see 20 plus turtles in some areas. Snorkelers often see jacks, Parrotfish, Barracudas, Angel Fish, Trumpet Fish, Queen Triggerfish, Tarpon, Angelfish, Moray eels, Blue Tangs, and much more. You will just have to come to see what else….
